Private Service: You choose the best convenience date for you and your group. Price depending on number of people booked.
Once you arrive to Calama, our people will meet you at the airport, and then they’ll take you to a brief reunion with the expedition guide in charge. This is necessary to solve any doubts and to check if your mountain equipment is appropriate and make a visit to Valle de la Luna (Moon-Valley) on the evening.
We’ll visit the Geysers del Tatio which will be of use for our acclimatization process, since these are at 4.200masl, being the highest geothermic fields in the world. We’ll be back to San Pedro de Atacama for lunch, and then head south to the Atacama Salt Flat. Afterwards we’ll set up our first base camp at Lejía lagoon where we’re going to see our first challenge, the Lascar volcano (5.592masl).
On this day we’re going to drive to the Altiplanic Lagoons (Miscanti and Miñiques), which also are placed at high altitude (4.200m).
We’ll be already acclimatized and able to conquer our first summit. We’ll leave early morning heading this summit; once there, we’ll be able to look at our second goal, the Licancabur volcano. After we’ve reached our first goal, we’ll head back to our base camp and take it down and go back to San Pedro de Atacama to spend the night.
We’ll head to the Chilean frontier with Bolivia and do a short trekking by Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca and the Licancabur village. Afterwards we’ll go to spend the night at the park refuge.
We leave early morning to reach the summit. After a 7 to 8 hours hike we’re going to conquer the Licancabur summit and to gaze at the altiplanic landscape and also its lagoon right at the very top of it. Finally we’ll prepare to descent and come back to San Pedro de Atacama to spend our last night at the Chilean north area.
The whole group will be driven to the airport (optional).
