Book Information
Booking Process
01Choose your expedition
Browse our programs and select the expedition and dates that best fit your goals, experience, and availability. If you are unsure which program is right for you, our team will be happy to advise you.
02Confirm details with us
Once you reach out, we will provide the complete itinerary, pricing, and requirements. This includes information on acclimatization, technical level, logistics, and any additional services you might need.
03Complete the application form
Fill in the application form with your personal information, medical history, emergency contacts, and any relevant experience in the mountains. This helps us ensure your safety and provide you with the right support.
04Copy of passport
A copy of your valid passport is required for permits, reservations, and emergency procedures. Please send a scanned copy or a clear digital photo along with your application form.
05Reservation deposit
To secure your spot, a deposit of USD 700 (higher in some cases; your consultant will inform you) is required. There are two accepted payment methods:
- Payment link (WeTravel):
- Allows you to choose your preferred currency.
- Depending on the currency, you may pay by bank transfer (recommended) or credit/debit card.
- Bank transfer to HME account:
- Bank details will be provided upon request.
- The amount received by HME must equal the total invoiced amount.
Reservations are confirmed once the funds are received. Online bookings through our website (valid for Ojos del Salado 14 days only) or payment link are confirmed instantly, while wire transfers may take 1-5 business days to process. Please note that all transaction and processing fees are the responsibility of the client. HME does not accept cash payments for reservations or balances, except for small local payments (USD or CLP) at Santa Rosa Refuge or Campsite. In this case, bills must be in perfect condition, as Chilean banks do not accept damaged notes. Your consultant will provide the authorized recipient’s name. For further details, we recommend reviewing our full Terms and Conditions.
06Participation agreement
We will send you the participation agreement, which explains responsibilities, risks, and terms of service. It must be signed and returned before the expedition. This ensures that both you and our team are aligned on expectations and safety measures.
07Balance payment
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30 days prior to the start of the expedition. Failure to pay on time may result in cancellation of the booking without refund of the deposit, unless otherwise agreed in writing with your consultant.
08Final confirmation & preparation
Once all documents and payments are received, you will receive a final confirmation. We will provide a detailed pre-expedition information pack, which includes a review of your registered details, the name of your guide, emergency contact information, and other important notes to help you arrive prepared and confident.
